The Doctor Gets 9 BAFTA Nominations

After scooping six Bafta Cmru (def. Wales) awards last year, Doctor Who will have a high profile at this years event to be held on Sunday, 17 May after receiving a total of nine nominations at the launch in Cardiff on Thursday

Q: Has filming the specials been different from filming the regular series?

"I think we get slightly more time to film the specials. I don't know if that's even true – we get four weeks to film an hour-long special whereas we get about two-and-a-half weeks to film a normal 45-minute episode. The August 2008 issue of the UK Dr Who magazine is out today, in it is a chat with Cathering Tate, who as Donna Noble gives The Doctor a hard time most of the time, says Ms Tate, "What’s weird is, I was going into an established, loved, successful show, so part of me was thinking, oh God, there’s a responsibility there to that, but you can’t go on set every day and think, I really hope I don’t ruin this for everyone else involved! You just have to realise, yeah, I’ve taken this job, and the people around me wanted me to do it. Once you get down to the nuts and bolts of making the show, it was absolutely – and I can say this for certain – one of the best experiences of my professional life. Absolutely brilliant. SCI FI's 'DOCTOR WHO' SEASON FINALE ENDS WITH DOUBLE DIGIT GROWTH

New York, NY – August 4, 2008 – The British sensation Doctor Who season 4 finale on August 1 averaged a 1.0 HH rating and 1.264 million total viewers (P2+) in Live + Same Day Nielsen data. In addition the telecast delivered 695,000 P25-54s and 588,000 P18-49s.

Season 4 resulted in increased viewing for the series, with growth vs. season 3* +25% in HH Ratings, +17% in total viewers (P2+) and +6% in both P18-49s and P25-54s.
