Elixer was scheduled for viewing in my household on the evening of Monday 9 March 2009 at 8pm.
Record 'Talking Heads' on ABC1. TV in Australia is a very sad place, but thanks to friends overseas with willing VCR's and the magical kaiserbaas technology, distribution to other scifi/fantasy/supernatural/horror fans in Aus is easy
It has taken the full 5 eps to capture my imagination to get the series, as usual the first five eps are about back-story and getting to know the characters. Elixir itself is about magic, it's a fair dinkum slight of hand epiosde, all are not who they seem.
We learn pretty much what Kahlan's (Bridget Regan) powers are and how using them affects her, we also learned that there are devices that can cause Zeddicus "Zedd" Zu'l Zorander (Bruce Spence) a whole heap of grief, meanwhile Richard Cypher (Craig Horner) is still unsure of his powers, which seems to make him more dangerous than he would like to be.
And cleavage, cleavage by the centimeter, phfft when one gets to my age it is so, so, so ho hum, it's as if the female breast is the be all and end all of the female form, but I suppose the young males persons have to be tittilated to get them to watch, pretty sad.
Elixir was an excellent ep and I gave it 9/10, I look forward to next Monday's instalment: 107 Identity
