Back in May 2008 a furious bidding war erupted for the rights to produce a modern flick of the early 20th century comic series Flash Gordon, Sony won that battle and the selection of crew started almost immediately with Breck Eisner to direct and executive produce and Neal Moritz producing the piece.
Race forward to today and Sony has signed Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless to write the script.
